Markel International, London, December 5, 2016 --- Markel International, the specialist insurer, has appointed Naomi Murray as senior claims adjuster in its trade credit and political risk team.
Naomi is a highly experienced claims handler having spent nearly twenty years in the role. She has worked for Coface, Amlin, RPC Loss Adjusting and for the last eleven years as a consultant with Leadenhall Adjusting Limited. She has handled a wide range of claims arising from non-payment, pre-shipment credit, unfair bond calling, contract frustration, confiscation, expropriation, political violence and business interruption across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Naomi will report to Antony Bastow, claims manager and contracts counsel.
As a result of a growing market demand for specialist solutions, Antony’s role has become increasingly focused on assisting the underwriting teams in London, Singapore, New York and Dubai with the development of complex products and policy wordings. Antony, who is a qualified barrister and has 16 years of claims experience, will retain the overall responsibility for the trade credit and political risk claims function.
Naomi’s appointment will enable the team to continue to provide a customer focused, nimble and value added claims service, whilst enabling Antony to spend more time with the underwriters on delivering new and innovative products.
Ewa Rose, managing director, political risk and trade credit, said: “Naomi’s appointment is an important addition, which will further strengthen our global team. Her extensive market knowledge will enable us to continue to provide the policyholders with the highest level of claims handling service. We are delighted to have someone with her outstanding reputation in the trade credit and political risk market join the team”
