Exposure and experience count for a lot in this industry.  The Markel International graduate programme offers you a chance to really get to know our business through an 18 month rotational programme.  You will spend time with three teams across our business to help you develop the skills and knowledge it takes to be successful.  At the end of the graduate programme, subject to performance and business requirements, you may be offered a permanent position.

A summer internship is a great way to experience what it’s like to work for an international organisation and gain valuable insight before deciding on your long term career aspirations. We offer internships within one of our divisions: Specialty & Financial Lines; Marine, Energy and Property; Reinsurance; Strategy & Development; Claims; Legal & Regulation; Marketing; Operations; HR.

  • 8 week paid summer internship, with hands on work experience
  • Participation in a short project to support your ongoing development
  • A chance to secure a place on the graduate programme the following year, subject to performance and business requirements

  • In your penultimate year of university study

We offer a 15 month apprenticeship to allow you to kick start your career in insurance.

You will be supported to obtain your professional qualification, receive business and technical skills training and be part of a growing organisation. At the end of the apprenticeship programme, subject to performance and business requirements, you may be offered a permanent position at Markel International.  

 

What we offer:

  • This opportunity is based in our Leeds and London offices
  • 15 month apprenticeship, with hands on work experience
  • Completion of your insurance practitioner apprenticeship 
  • Support towards achievement of your Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII)

Are you considering a career as an actuary?

We are offering the opportunity for motivated undergraduates to spend 13 months working within our actuarial team in our London office (20 Fenchurch Street).
