Markel Appoints Chief Representative in Malaysia

Markel International, Kuala Lumpur, October 27, 2014 - Markel International, the specialist insurer with a worldwide product portfolio, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Ang as Chief Representative of Markel International in Malaysia.

Based in Markel International Labuan marketing office in Kuala Lumpur, Andy will be focusing on professional and financial risks as well as overseeing a wider scope of business development in Malaysia. He will report directly to Matthew Cannock, who heads Markel’s Asia Pacific operations.

Andy has an impressive track record in the insurance industry and joins Markel from Overseas Assurance Corporation (M) Berhad where he was the Liability Senior Manager based in Kuala Lumpur. He also held various senior roles in Malaysian insurance companies mainly focused on financial and casualty lines including AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad and BH Insurance (M) Berhad.
